Tonight approximately 11:15 pm EST. Barack Obama won the Presidential election. This night, in itself had a lot of changes. Weed is now legalized in Massachusetts up to one ounce [with a $100 fine] and [President] Barack Obama won the election. Welcome to the White House Mr. Obama!!!! [President?]

I, err, watched the election through MSN and boy was it.. intense. For awhile it was really close with McCain only a hundred votes behind, but that soon changed. I knew that [President] Obama would take victory of the race after winning Pennsylvania. After Penn. though, it all sort of seemed to go up hill. After winning all the larger states, there was not a moment when I had any doubt. All we needed was California and we got it.

Enough politics.

I am honestly taking the day off today, even if I have some work I need to makeup for ICL. Whatever. I was so sleep happy at dinner last night after band practice. I was laughing at everything everyone said. We had a fairly long hysterical discussion of throwing up... ironic I know, especially after dinner. On Tuesday night I spent the night away working from 9 pm to 5 am working on a project for Fletcher. God that class is so frustrating and makes me want to bang my head against a wall all the time! Everything needs to be oh so perfect before behind handed in. Your lines need to be straight and the paint needs to be put on smoothly. EVERYTHING IS SO GOD DAMN TECHNICAL.

Don't get me wrong, Fletcher is a good guy, but GOD I HATE PERFECTIONISTS. I am sure he is just whipping us (in a metaphorical sense) because in the Graphic Design industry your execution needs to be good.

I also hate how he grades us by how he thinks our designs match up to his expectations in his mind. I mean one project I did everything he told me to and he said a lot of positive things about my design but he gave me a fucking B on it, when I expected it to be a little higher. And then he gave me a fucking C+ (79 WTF?) on the second project because my execution was bad. Damn, he liked my designs but ripped me apart because of my execution.

Aside from working all night on Tuesday, I spent my Wednesday evening and night working on three papers that were due the next day and went to bed roughly around 4 am. Three hours of sleep. Joy. After dinner last night I was back in my room at 7:30 and was in bed by 8. THAT is early. Bad nights are usually 5 am. Decent nights are 3 am, good nights are 1 am and REALLY GOOD nights are anything before 11 pm.

Those don't come often.

I have been thinking about redesigning my site, but that would take me roughly a week, or so. It's gotten so big that its hard to redesign quickly. But I still really like my overall color scheme. I also don't have photoshop on my laptop so it'll be a little hard. Maybe around Thanksgiving I'll redesign (roughly 34 days).

I went home this past weekend and it was SO good to see everyone. Especially certain people

Bethlehem = Love

On days like today, my love for Bethlehem grows deeper. It is a beautiful September day, not too hot and not too cold, just right... just a little breezy. Coming from a quiet, rich, white town, Bethlehem excites me in many ways. Sure, I have been into Boston many times, but I never have really lived in a city, let alone a city that shares both of my passions; art and music. After my Visual Foundations class I was waiting for the shuttle to arrive and I was looking around taking everything in. It was a magical moment really, you could feel the creative energy that flows throughout the town everyday. People were out and about; walking, talking, painting, photographing, etc. It was a very active day.

Finally the bus arrived and I hoped on. The bus took its normal root that's often called the "Moravian Mile" which is the amount of distance from South Campus to North Campus; along main street. As the bus strutted along its worn paths, I spotted a photographer and a bride. I looked around, and noticed that she was probably a model, since the groom was no where in sight, and there seemed to be no indications of a wedding. The initial photo shoot took place on the crosswalk and the whole landscape was of main street. Before hoping onto the bus, an art class was outside painting and one student was at the corner of South Campus.

Has anyone noticed the moon recently? Its full, and many people including myself may feel its creative pull. I know for sure that around the full moon, my creative energy goes through the roof along with my insomnia. I am more energized in general but I tend to put all my energy into my creativity. I was up till 2 am on monday night doing homework for Tuesday. I have certainly noticed it in Bethlehem, the painters and photographers out and about on this perfect September day...

"10pm Brethren House aka the music building," Angel wrote on my wall. I had asked him earlier what time Friday's Zombie tag was. I never laughed so much in my entire life during Zombie tag. I don't know why I found it so funny, perhaps it was a mixture of being caffeinated and being a zombie. I was met with obstacles of benches being pushed in my way as I made my way down the hall to "kill" the civilians. I guess it was hilarious to see the reactions of the civilians as they spotted a zombie. The game was awesome with the lights off. The Brethren House is supposed to be haunted as it used to be a military hospital and other things.

After the game, the shuttle bus ran every half hour at night and the game ended at 11. A group of friends and I, took the long walk back because we didn't want to wait for the shuttle. Walking along the railroad tracks of Bethlehem, my friend Zakk decided to take us to a fort embedded in a wooded area. There was a steep 2 inch wide cement stair case that we climbed up to get into the fort. It was wet and slippery as it had been raining that night and I thought I was gonna die from climbing the steep stair way.

Once in the fort, it was relatively hard to see because it was so dark in the wooded area. Since it had been raining there was no moon light and we had no flight lights. Cell phones were then used, instead of flashlights. We contemplated on camping out in the fort, but turned down the idea, as it had been raining so everything was damp.

We left and walked across the road and ended up on a bank on Lehigh River. Zakk had an interest in taking a midnight swim in the river, but Lehigh River wasn't the most pristine river one have had come across on, so we decided against that.

We then followed the tracks back to North Campus and parted to our separate ways to the dorms.

This year looks like its going to be a long full year. I feel like I have been at college already for a month; but it has been roughly three weeks, which I suppose is roughly a month. Anyways, my weeks are long filled with class, tons of work, meetings and eventful happenings throughout my day.

I signed up to do a number of things already. For example I signed up for the Marching band which meets after my Art of Music class (Tuesdays and Thursdays( from 4-6 pm, I also signed up for the flute ensemble which meets 6:30 pm on Thursday evenings. Monday nights I go to the campus wide events club (IMPACT) which roughly is no more than a half hour or so. Thursdays after drawing at 11:45 am is Art club meeting which I plan on joining cause I have some really cool ideas to suggest. On Wednesdays, the Habitat for Humanity group meets, as well as the Catacombs (which is a worship service type event for prayer and music) and an optional Coffeehouse from 9-12am. Friday nights are dedicated to flute/piano practice, though I need to find more time in my schedule for them. I roughly do a half hour of each from 8-9 pm. Fridays tend to be a day off most of the time; though if there is a Marching Band event that weekend it is spent doing homework.

Sundays - Mini Band Camp [irregular; only on long weekends]
Mondays - Visual F. (12:45-3:15pm) - IMPACT (10:00pm)
Tuesdays - Drawing 1 (8:30-11:00am) - Slave Narr. (12:50-2:00pm) - Art of Music (2:20-3:30pm) - Marching Band (4:00-6:00pm)
Wednesdays - Visual F. (12:45-3:15pm) - Coffeehouse [irregular] (9:00-12:00am) - Catacombs [irregular] (10:00-?pm)
Thursdays - Drawing 1 (8:30-11:00am) - Slave Narr. (12:50-2:00pm) - Art of Music (2:20-3:30pm) - Marching Band (4:00-6:00pm) - Flute Ensemble (6:30-7:45pm)
Fridays - F R E E ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Saturdays - Marching and Showing w/ Marching Band [irregular]

There you have it, my insane schedule and in between all of this I have 4+ hours of "nightly" homework.

Tomorrow though, I'm definitely planning on going to Coffeehouse. It's hard for me to get to because I have to do homework for the next class and its literally impossible to do it on Tuesday nights. So I guess I just have to wake up a little bit earlier to do homework and do a little homework after class too, and finish it after dinner. That will work.

Do you know what I really hate and is one of my biggest pet peeves about people? I hate it when some people think they are the best. Sure, I mean we all act like this but sometimes it really goes over the top. Its one thing to be proud of something you have, you go to, or you do. But it's another to be all stuck-up about it.

I also hate that people think they know what their doing and know everything about what their doing when they actually don't. For example, there is a certain group of "artists" (if you can even call them that) out there on the internet that thinks they know what Graphic Design is, but they really don't.

The Rhode Island newspaper once had an article about the graphic design professor at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) and he said, "Graphic Design is all about making the client look good." And that is so true. The "artists" on the internet think Graphic Design is using other people's resources to create something of their own. Graphic Design is that to some extent. Designers may use and may be inspired by other people's resources but only to some extent. But graphic designers create and use their own resources. Take their own photographs or purchase stock photography. They find ways to make their work original and different, but fill the clients expectations. Graphic Design is all about the placement of things and the layout of things. Your work must be original and created by yourself, not by another person.

Its often not good to call oneself an idiot, though, now is an exception. Last night, around...let's say 00:29:23, Flock decided to crash on me and I didn't realize that the text editor was open for the portfolio page. And boom, all the coding went down the drain. It should be an easy fix because the "Designer" page is basically a template of the portfolio page, just gotta add everything back again which will be a pain cause the sildeshow is gone and that took the longest.

I'll work on it later. I have more important stuff to work on.
I think I am going to work on the "Travel" section of the site next. Put up stories of where I've been and places to suggest. I love that kind of thing, letting me opinion be known. :3

I am taking a break of working on the JavaTV section. I finally got a site that is compatible with Macs. Can't you believe it? Sites like, Stickam are not compatible. I mean seriously. Everything is compatible with macs! Macs are like...the rulers of the computerverse. Just kidding.

Anyway, I got the webcam station up, I just got to figure out the private video cam settings and we're good to go. I was on Livevideo for sometime last night talking to some on line friends and some...other users. It was an interesting night. Man, I wished I had saved some of the conversations we had lmao.

Once I figure out the private video chat settings I will set up instructions of how to use it so we can all chat and be happy! I mostly signed up for livevideo so I can connect with friends at home better. I'm hoping to do one big live chat sometime that'll be awesome. :-)

So nothing much on the homefront is going on. I hung out with my friend Isabella yesterday we went downtown to the bagel place and eat lunch then went over to the Paper Source. Cool store. They have neat paper. :3

Today just lounging around, and tonight I think I will work on packing some clothes for college. I don't think I can do much cause I have to take some clothes and pack them into a different bag for our family vaca to the cape the days before. But I have started gathering stuff in the Living Room to pack when we get back. So it'll be an easier transition.

So the post shows now, so I guess it just takes awhile for it to be published hmm. I got to get used to this, I'm so used to seeing the post right away.

Anyway, I've been working on the "designer" page and adding more stuff about me, etc. But I'm so happy there is no problem with it and that it just takes awhile. *sigh*
